I'm sure that everyone of you had to go schopping in a local grocer's shop at least once. There are two phenomena I'd like to mention and I'm pretty sure you know what I'am talking about!
1. "Mogę być winna grosika?"
You finally come up to the cash-desk, you pack all the products and you want to pay. 19.99. And then the magic question appears.... "Mogę być winna grosika?" So, we say: Yeah, keep the change, please! But we actually think.. NO, YOU CAN'T! How many times did it happen to you?
2. Impersonal forms: "Ma dwa złote?" " "A da?"
What can we do when we don't know wheater we should say for example to a girl "Miss"or we just can say "You"? The Polish, as usualy, came up with the brilliant idea and they started using impersonal forms and that concerns especially sellers! "Dać torbę?", "Dwa złote ma?", "Przesunie sie" etc, etc, I really can multiply the examples but it's certain that you experienced it yourselves. As far as I'm concerned, I always feel like those sellers treat me like a dummy, aren't you too?;)
I prepared for you a nice video connected with subject of this post:) (I have to prevent you that in this short film appears a few swearwords.. Pardon!)
